Training on the HEMA capitation model
Training on the HEMA capitation model
Year: 2012
Supported by European Commission funding to the Ministry of Health for the HEMA Project, Partners with Health Sector Capacity Support Project (HSCSP)
The Health Care for the Poor in Northern Mountains and Central Highland (HEMA) Project has designed and piloted a capitation model, which is currently applied in 7 Commune Health Centers (CHCS) in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces. The Ministry of Health is now working to expand the model to other settings in Vietnam in order to collect evidence from diverse socio-economic and cultural contexts. Three pilot provinces were selected for further piloting, including Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, and Ha Nam. To prepare health workers and staff in these provinces for implementation of the model, two three-day training courses on the HEMA capitation model were conducted in Hoa Binh. Trainings were led by the HEMA capitation consultant team, and trainees included health workers and government personnel who will collaborate in the new pilot sites.
