NAM TRUONG NGUYEN, MD, DRPH 
FOUNDER, DIRECTOR
Dr. Nam Nguyen graduated from Hanoi Medical University in 1995 as an Epidemiologist. In 2003, he received his Master of Public Health in Sociomedical Sciences from Columbia University, New York, where he continued on to earn a Doctor of Public Health degree in Sociomedical Sciences in 2007.  Dr. Nguyen’s research interests include, but are not limited to: HIV/AIDs, sexual and reproductive health, gender and sexuality, communicable diseases, non-communicable disease (NCDs), tobacco cessation, behavior change communication, and monitoring and evaluation.  He has served as Principal (PI) or Co-Investigator for more than 30 large-scale quantitative and qualitative studies. He has substantial experience in conducting large scale surveys, and he is an expert in data management and data analysis with the complex datasets. Dr. Nam is fluent in English and has strong English writing skills. He is very familiar with the health care system in Viet Nam. Dr. Nam oversees the Survey Center, Training Center, Center for Health and Nutrition and Administration & Finance Division at ISMS.

THU DAI BUI, MD, MSC
VICE DIRECTOR
Dr. Thu Bui earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Hanoi Medical University in 1989.  He went on to receive a Master of Science degree in Public Health and Nutrition from the University of Indonesia in Jakarta in 1997. Dr. Thu has over 20 years of experience in program planning and management in Vietnam, with particular expertise in monitoring and evaluation. He also specializes in policy analysis, proposal development and training. Some of the areas his research and projects have focused on include population and development, reproductive health, aging, nutrition and health system development. Dr. Thu is fluent in English and has strong English writing skills. Dr. Bui oversees the Social Protection Research Department, M&E and Policy Department at ISMS.
