Training for health workers in the project "Deploying model of supporting and smoking cessation treatment in CHCs"– Round 3

ISMS in collaboration with New York University, Health Center in Dai Tu district and VINACOSH deployed a training course for 55 health workers at 8 commune health stations (Cu Van, Ha Thuong, Ban Ngoai, Khoi Ky, Tien hoi, Hoang Nong, Van Yen and Tan Linh) within the framework of the project "Deploying model of supporting and smoking cessation treatment in Commune Health Centers” The 1st training course was held from 19-20 April 2016 and the 2nd training course is from 21-22 April 2016 at Dai Tu district Health Center, Thai Nguyen.

Upon completion of training, health workers will i) understand the general information about tobacco, tobacco harms and benefits of quitting; ii) be equipped with communication skills, counseling skills and confidence to apply these skills when making quick counseling for patients to quit smoking; iii) understand and apply the process of quick consulting to support smoking cessation; and iv) understand the process of monitoring, tracking and reporting of the project.
