Monitoring study for PSI's intervention activities (TRAC-M) among sex workers in Quang Ninh and Hai Phong

Year: 2010

For PSI Vietnam; Funded by: USAID/PEPFAR

Since August 2008, Population Service International (PS) Vietnam has been implementing an outreach-based HIV prevention intervention targeting female sex workers, including those who use drugs, in 4 provinces. The project aims to promote risk-reduction practices and utilization of HIV voluntary counseling and testing among sex workers. As part of its ongoing efforts to improve monitoring and evaluation of program activities, CIHP and ISMS conducted a monitoring study (TRAC-M) of sex workers in August 2010 per PSI's request. At the end of July 2010, 200 female sex workers were interviewed in Hai Phong and Quang Ninh. They provided information about their level and type of exposure to PSI program activities as well as the nature of the respondents' work arrangements, living situation, and mobility issues.
