Evaluation of Project NAM: HIV Prevention for Street Youth in Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City

Save the Children in Vietnam (SCIV) contracted ISMS to conduct an evaluation study that aimed to: 1) identify HIV-related risks among street youth, and 2) evaluate the impact of Save the Children's Project NAM on the HIV-related knowledge and behaviors of street youth in Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City. The methods included a cross-sectional survey of 582 street youth in Hai Phong and HCMC. Using a participatory research approach, street youth peer educators were trained to interview their peers. In addition to the survey, in-depth interviews and focus group discussions were held with street youth, peer educators, street educators, and project personnel.
